Julie Fulkerson is a wildlife biologist, fine artist, illustrator, and graphic designer with a passion for the environment. She combines her biological training with her artistic talents to create realistic images of nature in several media.

She began exhibiting her work publicly in 2003. In 2007, her work was featured at the White Sturgeon Gallery in Vancouver in a two-person show. Her work was also shown in the Around Oregon Annual, the Ft. Worden Wildlife and Nature Art Expo, and Portland Open Studios, as well as the Buckman Art Show and Sale and the Colored Pencil Society Chapter Show. Her work has previously been seen in the 2006 Portland Audubon Societyís Wild Arts Festival, 2005 and 2006 Portland Open Studios, the 2006 Port Townsend Wildlife and Nature Expo, the 2005 invitational Lake Oswego Visual Chronicle Show, and the 2006 Doll Gardner Galleryís group show, Creature Comforts. Her work was juried into the 2006 Cannon Beach Galleryís All Juried Show, the 2003-2005 Black ,White and Grey Show (Keizer Art Association), the 2004 Wild Arts Festival Exhibition (Portland Audubon Society), Celebration of Creativity (Southminster Presbyterian Church) and the Oregon Art Annual (Oregon State Fair). Her artwork received a First Place at both the 2005 Lake Oswego Festival of the Artís Open Show and the 2005 Black, White and Grey Show, a First Place at the 2004 Black, White and Grey Show, and an Honorable Mention at the 2004 Lake Oswego Festival of the Artsí Open Show.

Julie Fulkersonís first career was working as a wildlife biologist for the federal government. In 2000, she returned to school to train as an illustrator and graphic designer. The next year, she started her own business, Wildland Graphics, specializing in wildlife illustration and graphic design for natural resource agencies and environmental organizations.

Ms. Fulkerson studied illustration and fine art at Linn-Benton Community College (Oregon) and Purdue University (Indiana). She has a degree in graphic design from Mt. Hood Community College (Oregon) and degrees in wildlife biology from Louisiana State and Purdue Universities.

Julie Fulkerson was born and raised in Indiana. After living in several states throughout her career, she and her husband have settled in Oregon.
